Coronavirus infection in Russia. July 08
Russia confirmed 6 368 new coronavirus infections Tuesday, bringing the country’s official number of cases to 694 230.
Over the past 24 hours 198 people have died, bringing the total toll to 10 494 - a rate considerably lower than in many other countries hit hard by the pandemic.
A total of 9 551 people recovered over the last 24 hours, bringing the overall number of recoveries to 463 880.
- Russia's Federal Air Transport Agency, Rosaviatsia, has extended Russia's ban on international flights until Aug. 1 due to the coronavirus,
- All beaches in Moscow will be closed due to the coronavirus, Russia's consumer protection watchdog said. Locals had flocked to beaches along the Moscow River with the arrival of warmer weather.
- The Hermitage Museum in St. Petersburg will re-open to visitors on July 15.
- It is unclear when EU countries will reopen their borders to Russian tourists, President Vladimir Putin said Monday during a meeting with the head of Russia’s flagship airline Aeroflot.
