Coronavirus infection in Russia. August, 22

Russia confirmed 4 785 new coronavirus infections Thursday, bringing the country’s official number of cases to 942 106.

Over the past 24 hours 110 people have died, bringing the total official toll to 16 099.

Russia has delivered coronavirus-related humanitarian aid to at least 46 countries so far, according to an analysis by Russia’s Center for Advanced Governance (CAG) advisory body.

Russia made at least 100 deliveries of Covid-19 tests, protective equipment, medicine and medical personnel to these countries as of Aug. 2, the CAG said.

Post-Soviet and Asia Pacific countries including China were the main recipients of Russia’s Covid-19 aid.

Russia said Saturday that it has produced the first batch of its coronavirus vaccine, after President Vladimir Putin announced it had been first in the world to approve a vaccine.
