AZUR air became an industry leader by passenger load factor in 2017.
According to statistics published by Federal Air Transport Agency, which indicate the core indicators of operations activities of the airlines in 2017, AZUR air consistently ranks No. 8 in the industry by number of passengers carried and ranks No. 5 by passenger turnover. According to the regulatory authority, from January to December the airline AZUR air carried more than 3.747 million passengers, which is 59.9% greater than in 2016. The passenger turnover of the company in 2017 amounted to more than 17.964 million passenger-kilometers. Compared with 2016, it increased 47.7 %. At year-end 2017 AZUR air led the list of the leading Russian airlines by passenger load factor. In 2017 96.6 % of seats were occupied by passengers on carrier’s flight, the company increased this figure compared with 2016 by 1.8%. As a reminder, the growth of passenger flow and passenger turnover by more than half is due to fleet growth, AZUR air route network extension and increase the frequency of flights on medium-haul and long-haul destinations. Flight program is performed from 40 Russian cities to 30 popular tourist destinations. In 2017 AZUR air started to operate flights from 35 Russian cities in Turkey. AZUR air has expanded its flight program in Dubai from 15 Russian regions, also it has started operating regular direct flights on the route Moscow-Dubai-Moscow. In 2017 AZUR air has continued the program of performing of daily transatlantic flights from Moscow and Saint-Petersburg to Punta Cana (Dominican Republic) and Varadero (Cuba). During the year flights to Thailand, Vietnam, China and other countries had been also actively performing. By the end of 2017 the AZUR air fleet amounted to 20 aircraft, including eight Boeing 757-200, seven Boeing 767-300 and five Boeing 737-800.
