Air Astana extends Astana–Larnaca flights to October 3

Air Astana will keep flying directly from Astana to Larnaca, Cyprus, until October 3. The flights run twice a week on an Airbus A321LR. The airline launched the route from Astana and Almaty in early June.  

The new connection is already bringing more visitors. According to Cyprus airport operator Hermes Airports, about 12,000 tourists from Kazakhstan visited the island in 2025. With direct flights now in place, local tourism authorities expect that number to double in 2026 – some forecasts suggest around 18,000 arrivals during the first year of regular service.  

Citizens of Kazakhstan need a national visa of the Republic of Cyprus to enter the country.  However, if someone has a valid multiple-entry Schengen visa, he/she can also use it to enter Cyprus, even though the country is not part of the Schengen Area.  Visa applications are accepted through BLS International visa centers in Astana, Almaty, Shymkent, Atyrau, and Ust‑Kamenogorsk. The consular fee is €90 for adults and €45 for children aged 6–12, plus a service fee of about €8.

Air Astana is Kazakhstan’s largest carrier. It also owns the low‑cost airline FlyArystan.

Cyprus isn't the only sunny spot Air Astana is adding this season. The airline's summer schedule (running through October 24) also includes seasonal flights to:  

- Turkey – Antalya (daily flights) and Bodrum

- Montenegro – Podgorica (from Almaty and Astana)

- Georgia – Batumi and Tbilisi

- Vietnam – Nha Trang and Da Nang

- Maldives – Malé (extended until end of May)
