Visa cancellation in China: interest has already grown
China will introduce a trial visa-free regime for Russian citizens with a regular passport for up to 30 days from September 15. It will be valid for a year, said the official representative of the Chinese Foreign Ministry, Guo Jiakun.
ATOR and the Russian Union of Travel Industry (RUT) predict that the tourist flow from Russia will increase by 30-40%, especially to the mainland of China.
The Association of Travel Aggregators (ATAG) reported that Russians' interest in booking airline tickets and staying in hotels in China has already doubled since the announcement of the introduction of a visa-free regime.
President Vladimir Putin said that Russia will take a reciprocal step and cancel visas for Chinese citizens. There is no official information yet on how long the Russian side will introduce a visa-free regime, under what exact conditions, and from what date.
