Turkish hotels are ready to extend discounts for early booking action

At the conference "Spring-Summer 2019", which Coral Travel tour operator held in Moscow, Turkish hoteliers noted that sales on the Russian market for the summer are not as intensive as they want. Some luxury hotels are ready to prolong the action of early booking. 

“Every week we compare our price with the tariffs of competitors, we evaluate our positions among hotels. Now they are balanced, but the action of early booking has recently ended, and we are thinking about the possibility of extending it. It will be very difficult to work without a discount,” said Osman Aydin, a representative of the OTIUM Hotels chain. He added that this issue will be worked in details with colleagues after returning from MITT tourism exhibition. But it is already possible with a high degree of confidence to say that the decision will be positive. 

“Many tourists are surprised by prices this year. Tourists from Russia are not willing to pay 500 thousand Rubles (6,750 Euros) for a two-week vacation with two children on the Turkish coast. As far as I know, this season they began to choose cheaper hotels,” said a representative of another Turkish hotel. 

“Russian tourists form a large part of our budget, we are ready to support them,” concluded Osman Aydin. 

However, there are other opinions. So, the CEO of ELA Quality Resort Belek Ufuk Gezgin does not think that prices will fall, because sales in Europe and in Germany, in particular, are going well. The demand for Turkey is significant. 

Recall that, according to tour operators' forecasts, a rise in prices for abroad resorts in the 2019 season will help tourists to reorient for domestic resorts. The flow of tourists from Europe last summer did not meet the expectations of Turkish businessmen, so they offered favorable rates to Russian partners. This year there is no point in waiting for such proposals. Nevertheless, Turkey will remain the most budget destination in comparison with other areas popular among the Russians.
