Turkey remains the most popular destination of outbound tourism in the 2019 season with a large margin from other countries. The participants of the market are relatively satisfied with the results of the early booking: more than 50% of the volume was sold. According to TUI Russia, as of the beginning of April, 30% of the planned volume to Turkey was sold.
According to Coral Travel and ANEX Tour operators, sales of Turkey increased by about 10%, in comparison with last year are booking campaign. Representatives of Intourist and TEZ Tour operators estimate the dynamics of demand at 30%, the press service of the tour operators Biblio-Globus and TUI Russia reported about a nearly two-fold increase in sales against 2018.
Almost all tour operators note the depth of sales of Turkish destination until October. Despite traditionally high prices in August, ANEX Tour reported a “good sales volume” for this month. Some flights in August are already half closed.
The rise in prices of tours to Turkey is a reason of the activity of tourists during early booking: a very large part of the tourists saved, trying to buy a tour with the maximum discount as early as possible – taking into account the possibility of currency jumps before the summer season.
The trend of the season-2019 is an active demand for tours to Turkey for the May holidays. Warm and comfortable weather (plus 23-26 degrees) is established in Antalya already from the end of April. So, many Russian tourists decided to spend a full holiday in Turkey in May. In addition, prices for tours at the start of the season cost 20-30% cheaper than during peak dates of summer - this is the main factor according to the opinion of tour operators.
According to tour operators, currently May is the most booked month on the Turkish destination. According to Marina Makarkova, the Head of Public Relations of Coral Travel tour operator, early booking sales in May are 40% ahead of last year’s indicators.
According to TUI, at the moment there is a shift in the total summer demand for Turkey for the edges of the season: for May-June and September. July and August are booked at last year’s level.
