Transaero operator certificate to be canceled from October 26
Transaero airline operator certificate will be canceled from October 26, Russia’s Transport Minister Maxim Sokolov said Wednesday in the interview with Channel One Russia. "The decree on revoking Transaero operator certificate from October 26, 2015, was signed this morning," Sokolov said. On October 20 the Russian Federal Air Transport Agency completed checking Transaero airline — the experts signed an act concluding that further activity of the airline was not possible, the Minister added. The decision of the Transaero airline bankruptcy that has accumulated 250 bln rubles ($3.9 bln) of debt, and was under the operational control of Aeroflot, was made at the government meeting with the Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev on October 1. The carrier stopped selling tickets. Transaero round-trip tickets with the departure date before December 15 and return after December 15 will be canceled as well as all the bookings for dates after December 15, 2015. Transaero operates about 200 daily flights. Every day the air carrier announces plans on canceling flights for the next day. Transaero passengers will be transported until December 15, 2015 by Transaero, companies of Aeroflot group and other Russian air carriers.
