Tourist flow from Russia to Turkey for the first half of the year increased by more than 40%
“The tourist flow from Russia to Turkey increased by 40.5% from January to June in comparison with the same period of the last year, the country was visited by 2.378 million Russians”, - according to the statistics of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Turkey. In total, Turkey for six months has hosted 16 million foreign tourists, which is 30.4% more than for the same period a year earlier. Russians are on the first line by the number of visits to the country (2.378 million). Leaders are also Germany (1.56 million), Iran (1.14 million), Georgia (1 million) and Bulgaria (988,000). In June Turkey was visited by 4.5 million foreign tourists, 990 thousand of them are Russians. Against the same month a year earlier tourist flow from Russia increased by 30%. In the first month of summer foreign tourists in Turkey were most often visited Antalya (43%), Istanbul (24.4%), Mugla Province (10.4%), Edirne (7.5%) and Artvin (5%). Statistics of visits for half a year is different: on the first place is Istanbul (37.4%), on the second - Antalya (29%). Earlier the Turkish authorities reported that they expect to host 6 million tourists from Russia this year. In total Turkey expects visits of 38 million foreign visitors - 17% more than a year earlier.
