Tourist flow from Russia to Spain fell by almost 30% from the beginning of the year

From January till May 2015, Spain was visited by a record number of tourists, although the number of tourists from Russia fell by 29%, according to statistics published by the Ministry of Industry, Energy and Tourism of the country on Monday. In the five months of this year, 22.5 million foreign tourists came to Spain, which shows an increase of 5.1% over the same period in 2014.

Since the beginning of year 2015, Spain was visited by 241.9 thousand Russians, which is 28.7% lower than a year earlier. Now Russian tourists account only 1.1% of the total tourist flow in Spain. In May, the country was visited by 80.1 thousand Russians, so drop was 29.5% compared to May 2014.
