Tourist flow from Russia to Cyprus has increased a half times in September
“Russian tourist flow to Cyprus in September has increased by 51% against the previous year”, - according to data published by the statistical service of the republic. According to statistics, in September 2015 Cyprus was visited by over 75 thousand Russian tourists. In September 2016 114.5 thousand Russians came to the country. The growth accounted 51.8%. In total, for the first nine months of 2016 670.3 thousand Russian tourists visited Cyprus, which is 44.5% above of the last year's results. The total foreign tourist arrivals to Cyprus this September reached 421.2 thousand. People, which is 16.7% more than last year's results. This September was a record number of tourist arrivals, according to the Statistical Service. The number of all foreign tourists amounted 2.6 million for the period from January to September and 18.8% higher than the number of tourists in the same period a year earlier. The leaders among the visitors in September are the tourists from the UK (149.6 thousand people), followed by Russia, than Sweden (19.5 thousand) and Israel (17.7 thousand).
