Tourist flow from Russia to Cyprus could reach 650 thousand following the results of 2016

“Following the results of 2016 the number of Russian tourists visiting Cyprus could reach 650 thousand people”, - told reporters the Ambassador of Cyprus to the Russian Federation Georgios Kasoulides on Tuesday. "In 2015 Cyprus was visited by 2 million 750 thousand tourists, 525 thousand of them are the Russians. This year was more successful, we estimate the growth of tourists number of 40% an average, and we expect that the number of Russians will be more than 650 thousand", - G. Kasoulides said. According to him, an increase of tourist flow from Russia was promoted by the reason of closing Turkey and Egypt. "But we are optimistic about the future and hope that the trend of increasing numbers of tourists will continue", - he said.
