Tour operators to increase air transportation to Sri Lanka from March
From March, Red Wings will launch another additional flight from Moscow to Mattala. Tourists of 4 tour operators will fly on it.
“From February, we have increased the frequency to three per week. And from March we will add one more flight every 10 days,” Red Wings said.
Currently, package tours to Sri Lanka on Red Wings flights are offered by tour operators Fun&Sun, Anex Tour, Intourist and Paks.
Since February 10, Fun&Sun tour operator has operated on the route Moscow - Mattala an additional board of Red Wings airline - Boeing 777-200.
Fun&Sun flight program to Mattala has been announced until April 24. Red Wings flights are operated from two airports of the Moscow region 4 times a week on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. Durations of tours are 10, 11 and 12 nights.
Paks tour operator also has a block of seats on Red Wings flights (a chain is once every 10 days). Paks block program started on February 10.
The tour operators Anex Tour and Intourist also take blocks on Red Wings flights to Mattala. Departures on the boards of Red Wings in March are three times a week (Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday). According to Anex Tour, in the first half of March, a 9 nights tour on a Red Wings flight to a 3* hotel (breakfasts) starts from $ 2 103 for two persons. A similar tour to a 4* hotel will cost from $ 2 250 for two and to a 5* hotel - from $ 2 345.
The number of tourists who arrived in Sri Lanka in the first week of February exceeded 26 000, and Russia is on the leading position with 6 619 arrivals.
The Russian Federation accounts for 25% of all foreign visits. The TOP-5 also includes the UK, Germany and France. In total, almost 32 thousand Russians have already visited Sri Lanka since the beginning of 2023. This is a lot - for the whole period of last year there were 91 thousand tourists from Russia on the island.
