This summer the Russian tourist flow to Bulgaria will reduce by 5%
The Minister of Tourism of Bulgaria Nikolina Angelkova told reporters that as for today the number of bookings of Russian tourists has decreased by 5% in comparison with the same period of the last year. "I think this season the Russian tourist flow will be reduced by 3-4%, maximum - 5%", - stressed N. Angelkova. She added that the price has a big impact on demand and Turkey remains the main competitor of Bulgaria. Speaking at the international forum Hotel & Tourism Investment, Nikolina Angelkova noted that more and more tourists in Bulgaria are resting in hotels which offer high-quality services. In 2017 more than 3.7 million tourists rested in 4-5-stars hotels, which is 32% more than in 2014. And the incomes of these hotels exceeded 919 million Leva - 49% more than in 2014. According to Ms. Angelkova, the tourist administration works in constant contact with large international hotels operators. Among them are Hyatt, Marriot, Review Pro, Avvio, Choice hotels, Louvre hotels, IDeaS a SAS Company, STR, etc. According to the Ministry of Tourism, in 2017 8.9 million of foreign tourists rested in Bulgaria, which is 7% more than in 2016. "We expect that in 2018 the number of foreign tourists in Bulgaria will increase by another 5% against the last year", - said Nikolina Angelkova.
