“In the first quarter of 2017, the tourists flow from Russia to Germany increased by 21.3% шт comparison with the same period of the last year”, - said he representative of the German National Tourist Office in Russia.
Between January and March, about 59.000 applications for Schengen visa were received by German visa centers in Kaliningrad, Yekaterinburg, Moscow, Novosibirsk and St. Petersburg, which is 20% more than in the first quarter of the last year.
"In May, another visa center was opened in Arkhangelsk, so in Russia today there are already 19 German visa centers which may issue German Schengen visas", - added in the tourist office.
In 2016, 1.5 million Russians spent at least one night in Germany, 88% of them stayed there more than 4 nights. Last year Russian tourists spent 1.8 billion Euros in Germany.
