The tourist flow from Russia to the Canary Islands has increased by almost 20% in 2016
“More than 70 thousand tourists from Russia visited the Canary Islands (Spain) for the period from January to November 2016, which is almost 20% more than in the same period of the last year”, - it was reported at the press service of the Ministry of Tourism, Sport and archipelago culture.
The figure for January-November of this year has exceeded the final result of all 2015, in which 63.5 thousand Russians came to the Canary Islands. The most popular destination among Russians, who prefer the vacation at the Canary Islands, is the largest island of the archipelago Tenerife, on the second place is the Gran Canaria island.
"For comparison, the number of tourist, arrived the Canary Islands from Russia in 2016, exceeds the volume of tourist flow from such countries as Austria, Czech Republic and Portugal.
It was reported that from January to September the Canary Islands were visited by about 12.5 million tourists. Thus, as a result the archipelago can host 14 million travelers in 2016.
