The tourist flow from Russia to India grew by almost 70% in 2017
“In 2017 385.7 thousand Russians visited India, which is 69% more than the same indicator of the last year”, - informed the Association of Russian Tour Operators (ATOR). "In 2016 India was visited by 228.2 thousand tourists from Russia, in 2017 their number was 385.7 thousand, which means an increase of 69%. The share of Russia in the total tourist flow is 3.8%", - according to the data of Ministry of Tourism of India. The Association noted that the Russian tourist flow significantly exceeded the pre-crisis indicators. In 2017 Russia came on the sixth line of TOP 10 of incoming markets. Russia also is in the TOP 3 of countries, whose citizens in 2017 most actively used the service of an electronic visa to India. 6% of all issued electronic visas were for Russians. In general, according to the Ministry of Tourism, last year India was visited by 10 million 177 thousand foreign tourists (plus 15.6%).
