The residents of the Murmansk region have traditionally preferred to spend the holidays in Finland
“The residents of the Murmansk region during the Christmas holidays visited mainly Finland”, -according to the materials of Murmansk customs.
In total, according to the ministry, from 30 December till 8 January Finland and Norway were visited by 18.6 thousand people, which is 4.6% below the last year's figures.
7 thousand Northerners have proceeded to Finland through the border checkpoint "Salla", which is 9% less than in 2016. The volume of passenger traffic through the checkpoint "Lotte" is 4 thousand people (remained at the same level of the last year).
7.6 thousand people proceeded to Norway through the checkpoint "Borisoglebsk", which is 2.6% less than at the last New Year holidays.
