Tour operators decrease number of flights to Turkey from Tatarstan
Tour operators continue to cut flight programs to Turkey from Tatarstan. As Kazan travel agents reported, Coral Travel and Pegas Touristic tour operators have canceled one flight. In addition, Pegas Touristic also changed the boards to Antalya to smaller ones: instead of Boeing-777, the flights will be performed by Airbus A321. Thus, if in May and the beginning of June, the supplier sent 2300-2500 people a week to Antalya, now only 1,870 seats are planned to use.
However, as stated in ANEX Tour, for July the tour operator, on the contrary, appointed one additional flight from Kazan to Antalya. According to the press service of Azur air, the gross additions in flights to the Turkish resort is 11.7%. However, as observers explain, this is a compensation for recently canceled flights from Kazan to Bodrum and from Begishevo to Dalaman.
According to experts, the general trend towards optimization of flight programs is the result of “burning” in the destination due to the high ambitious plans of tour operators for this season. Travel agents noted that over the past two weeks, the number of last-minute tours to Turkey has increased significantly. “Yesterday, for example, there was a special offer - 20-22 thousand Rubles (280 – 308 Euros) per person, last week - 35 thousand (391 Euros) for two persons. And such picture is almost every day. This is despite the fact that the standard price for such tours this season is 70-80 thousand Rubles (981 – 1,121 Euros),” said Olga Skorokhod, the director of Kazan travel agency Veterok. She added that in case of cancellation of tours due to the cancellation of the flight, most tourists choose a refund - they cannot pay extra 100 - 300 Euros for a trip purchased on the early booking stage.
Also travel agents complain that due to the cancellation of flights they lose their customers, and offer to fine tour operators for it in the amount of 10% of the cost of the tour.
