The prospective of sales of a ski holiday in Italy
In the framework of early booking the rate of sales of ski tours in the Alps this year is higher than last year. And the best results belong to Italy. “The depth of sales is also good. For example, it is already difficult to find accommodation in the expensive segment for the New Year. Economy offers have not yet been sold fully,” reported Pac Group tour operator at the presentation of Dolomiti Superski resort. The tour operator has conducted it in cooperation with the Department for the Promotion of South Tyrol, Italy’s national tourism agencies and representatives of the country's embassy. Despite the fluctuations of exchange rates, the company’s press service explained that the prices for accommodation remained at about the same level as last year - most of the partners did not change the contracting terms, and the discounts for early booking were valid until October 30. Other companies confirm the vigorous start of an early booking, but pay attention to the fact that the picture has changed. “In April-June, indeed, the sales dynamics was very good - plus 20% compared the figures for the same period of 2017. But when the ruble significantly dropped in August, the situation degraded. And September month was worse than last year. Now, when the course has stabilized, sales have resumed,” said the Deputy Director of Jet Travel, Maxim Pristavko. He confirmed that there are already a lot of stop sales in the expensive segment of New Year's Italy. But TUI Russia specialists have other view. "We most quickly have sold high-quality budget hotels and apartments", said the press service of the tour operator. They added that sales exceed last year’s figures by 30%. According to observers, the increase was due to the high rate of early booking. And it can be explained by the fact that customers wanted to insure themselves against a fall of ruble exchange rate in future, and, accordingly, a rise of prices for tours. The experts expect new sales restoration in October-November. But there is no certainty that with such serious “failures” of demand this year it will be possible to reach the indicators at least of 2017. There is a high probability that tourists will start looking for an alternative - for example, Sochi, where the ski resorts are already crowded, or budget Bulgaria.
