The preferences of Russian cruise tourists have changed over the past three years
Russian tourists are increasingly booking sea voyages abroad. They are not afraid of difficulties with visas, flights and not always convenient payment methods. Thus, this season, the demand for European and Asian cruises has grown significantly. Those airliners where it was possible to organize a Russian-language service and offer a turnkey program are especially popular.
According to Andrey Mikhailovsky, CEO of the Infoflot cruise center, there has been a sharp increase in bookings for foreign cruises, especially in Europe. "Here, the deferred demand from Russian tourists is clearly evident. I am sure that in the next 2 years the flow will increase several times over," noted Mr. Mikhailovsky.
Today, Russian tourists have access to almost all offers from companies such as MSC Cruises and Royal Caribbean. Cruises on the Astoria Grande liner, which is based in Sochi, are also in great demand. This is the only fully Russian-speaking sea liner in the world. In 2025, its route will expand: cruises to the Greek islands will be added to traditional destinations (Turkey and Egypt).
Andrey Mikhailovsky noted that the choice of cruises for Russians is now huge, including river trips along the Nile and Yangtze. Next year, the range will be replenished with a new product - a full-fledged cruise tour of India.
