The number of Russians visiting Georgia increased by 13% for the first 9 months

“For the period January-September 2016 Georgia was visited by 832 thousand Russian citizens, which is 13.4% more than in the same period of 2015”, - said the Information and Analytical Department of the Georgian Interior Ministry on Monday. In the third quarter of this year the number of visitors from Russia was 9.5% more than in the previous two quarters and was amounted 434.9 thousand. Only in September Georgia was visited by 119.1 thousand Russians, which is 31.3% more than in September of the last year. By the number of people who visited Georgia for the first nine months of 2016, Russia is on the fourth position after Azerbaijan, Armenia and Turkey. 5 million 901 thousand visitors were registered in Georgia in 2015, which is 7% higher than a year earlier. This figure includs visitors from Russia - 926.1 thousand people (14.1% growth).
