The number of Russian tourists in Dolomites area has increased by 25%
In 2017, according to the tourist administration of Trentino region of Italy, 35,000 Russian citizens came here to rest. Russian tour operators and airlines intend to increase the flow of tourists to the Dolomites in 2018. The growth of the Russian tourist flow in Trentino, known among skiers as the Dolomites, began in the winter 2015/16 and the third season is still at the level of +20-25%. Although the number of Russian tourists here has not yet reached the pre-crisis levels, the growth rate inspires hope for the rapid restoration of Russia's former positions in the region. In addition to skiing in the Dolomites Trentino region intends to offer on the Russian market summer holidays’ options on the lakes, including family tourists. Such a holiday may be more attractive with combination with interesting gastronomic experience, cycling and excursion programs to Verona, which is famous for its architectural and museum masterpieces. “Tourist flows to the region will only grow, I am sure”, - said Yuri Stepin the Deputy General Director of PAC Group tour operator. According to him, the company made a lodgment in the region and came there forever. The representative of the S7 airline also noted the improving logistics opportunities for the Russian tourist flow to this Italian region: the company has added flight from St. Petersburg (additionally to the Moscow’s flight) to Verona in late December. And this flight is planned to be in operation in the summer schedule. Besides, Aeroflot will start flying to Verona in the summer.
