The number of Russian tourists in Antalya approached the level of 4.5 million people

Despite the end of the season, the main Turkish resort continues to update records of foreign arrivals, primarily from the Russian market. According to Antalya Airport, as of October 16, there were registered 11,610,925 foreign citizens (+27.6% compared with the same period in 2017). In the first half of October alone, 888 thousand foreign visitors have arrived (+36.2%). At least 50 thousand foreign tourists arrive in Antalya daily. The statistics on the nationalities of foreign guests of the Turkish airport is not available. However, based on statistics from the previous 9 months of 2018, it can be assumed, that the Russian market retains a strong leadership in Antalya. As reported earlier, in January-September, the share of the Russian market in Antalya was almost 39% of the total inbound flow. For 9 months, the resort was visited by 4,134,102 citizens of the Russian Federation (+22.5% compared with the same period in 2017, an increase of 761 thousand people). According to ATOR experts, by mid-October the Russian tourist flow to Antalya coast reached 4.5 million people. Thus, Russia continues to update its own records in Antalya, remaining the main entry market for the Turkish resort. Recall that in this autumn-winter season, tour operators are noting an unusually high demand for Turkey. Following the demand, the leading tour operators on the destination significantly increased the number of charter flights to Turkey in the autumn and winter seasons, including the charters from the regions.
