The new direct flight to Malta will raise sales in the season
The direction showed growth this year both among organized and independent tourists. In 2018 direct transportation to Malta will be more. Since March 2018 Air Malta resumes regular flights from St. Petersburg to Malta. At the same time from Moscow the national carrier will perform three and in the summer months - four regular flights a week. According to the tourist office of Malta in Moscow, in comparison with the last year the number of Russian tourists, who visited Malta in the period from January to September, increased by 43.6%. The growth in the segment of organized tourism on the Maltese direction is confirmed by tour operators. Thus, PAC GROUP reported that Malta's sales increased by more than 50%, especially in the educational tours segment. Representatives of the tour operator also "very positively evaluate the future of the new flight" and believe that it will be in demand on the market. About the growth of the direction, but not so significant, report ICS Travel Group and Russian Express tour operators. Representatives of ICS, however, believe that the high growth of tourist arrivals to Malta from Russia is largely due to the growing popularity of destinations among independent tourists, ready to fly by indirect flights and planning a trip in advance.
