The growth of the Russian tourist flow to Turkey is 20%
During the eight months of 2018, 4,186 million Russian tourists visited Turkey. This was reported by local media with reference to the statistics of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Turkey. Thus, the growth of the tourist flow from Russia from January to August exceeded by 20.3% the indicators of the same period last year.
In total, according to the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Turkey, 27 million foreign tourists visited the country during this period (an increase of almost 23% compared to the same period last year). Russia continues to lead in the structure of the incoming tourist flow to Turkey with a share of 15.49% of the total number of all foreign arrivals. The TOP 5 of incoming markets of Turkey also includes Germany, Great Britain, Iran and Georgia.
Recall, after the serious decline in demand for Turkish resorts in 2016, due to the lack of charter flights, Turkish hoteliers began to reduce prices for Russian partners and spent a lot of money for promotion. It allowed to return the tourist flow from Russia at the previous level and to exceed it by almost a quarter this year. This immediately affected prices. The cost of tours to Turkey in September - early October was significantly higher than in the same period last year (according to experts, about 15-20%).
The Russian tour operators, working on the Turkish market, predict that the cost of tours in the next season will not decrease. "At best, it will remain at the same level, but, most likely, it will grow," said earlier Selcuk Bugai, the deputy director of Coral Travel. The owner of TBS Group Rashad Mammadov, who is well aware of the structure of tourist business of Turkey, predicts a rise in prices from 10%.
