Spain set a record in the number of foreign tourists, but lost 35,4% of Russians
From January to April 2015, Spain was visited by 16 million tourists, which is a new record. According to the website of the Ministry of Industry, Energy and Tourism of Spain, an increase in tourist flow in comparison to the same period of the last year was 4.4%. Leader in the number of tourists to Spain was the UK: 3.2 million of its citizens were in Spain, the increase in tourist flow as compared to January-April 2014 amounted to 5.5%.
Meanwhile, arrivals from Russia in April 2015 amounted to 47.5 thousand people, which is 35.4% below last year's results. In just four months from January to April 2015, Spain was visited by 161.8 thousand Russians, which is below last year's level by 28.3%.
