The Russian tourist flow to South Korea for the first 6 months of 2018 increased by 15.4%. As reported in the National Office of Tourism of Republic of Korea (NTO) in Russia, according to preliminary data for the first half (January-June) period of 2018 the country was visited by more than 153 thousand Russians. Commenting this result, Ekaterina Lopukhina, the Marketing Director of NTO in Russia noted the growing interest of tour operators to the direction. "The peak of visiting South Korea is spring and autumn, as well as the period from July to August, when the beach season comes. In the summer most tourists from the central regions of Russia give preference to the nearest beach destinations", - said Yulia Saburova, the Head of Southeast Asia direction of VEDI TOUR GROUP operator. Elena Milovanova, the leading specialist of outcoming tourism department of KMP Group estimates the summer season on the Korean direction as "calm". The South Korea's TOP destinations for summer 2018 include Seoul (60.91% of all requests for tours), Busan (17.52%), Jeju island (13.76%) and Gyeongju (4.69%). According to the group of companies "Sletat.ru", in this summer season package tours to South Korea are interested for 0.03% of Russians. In the absolute number of requests this is 27% more than the number of tourists who choose such trips a year ago. The most frequently South Korea is requested in Moscow (58.03%), St. Petersburg (10.43%), Khabarovsk (6.17%), Novosibirsk (2.80%), Vladivostok (2.59%), Krasnodar (1.97%), Kazan (1.47%) Irkutsk (1.38%) and Krasnoyarsk (1.14%). According to experts, the depth of sales of the direction is low - 2-3 months, and the main factor affecting demand is the cost of the tour.
