Russian Union of Travel Industry (RCT): about 40% sales of travel agencies were to Turkey in September
“In September of this year Turkey destination accounted over 40% of total sales of tours”, - said the press secretary of RCT Irina Turina the portal "Interfax-Tourism", with reference to the data of travel agencies.
"According to statistics of the joint network of “Hot Tours" and "TBG" companies, in September of this year Turkey accounted for over 40% of total sales, which corresponds to the level of 2015. In the last month on the second place of the number of bookings was Tunisia - 34%, followed by Greece (28%), Russia (27%) and Cyprus (23%). The TOP 10 also included Spain, Thailand, Bulgaria, the Dominican Republic and Montenegro", - said Irina Turina.
"Over the past month the sales to Turkey increased by 40-45% compared to the same month of the last year. Due to the absence of Egypt (the main competitor), it is not a real indicator of the growth of the country popularity", - said the director general of TBS group Rashad Mammadov.
