Russian tourists will be able to get Chinese tourist visas again

From March 15, 2023, China will resume issuing all types of visas to foreigners at its consular offices around the world. This was reported on the website of the Chinese Foreign Ministry. However, it is still too early to talk about “the resumption of the tourist flow to China from Russia”, according to the interviewed experts.

On the website of the Chinese Embassy in Russia there is no information about the resumption of the issuance of visas at the time of the morning of March 15. However, the Russian embassy in China has already published a corresponding message on its Telegram channel.

Russian tour operators report that applications for visiting China are already actively received from tourists. But so far it is too early to talk about the “resumption of the tourist flow”.

“We are still waiting for information on when and how the acceptance of documents for visas will be resumed at the consulate. It will be possible to say that tourist entry to China has resumed only after receiving the first visa,” one of the interviewed representatives of the tourism industry says.

The participants of the tourist market also expect the resumption of the exchange of tourists with China according to the lists of tour operators (group visa-free).

Earlier it was reported that all restrictions from the Russian side were lifted. The dates for the restoration of the group visa-free regime were not called.
