Russian tourists prefer foreign resorts for May holidays

“Russian tourists prefer to book air tickets to foreign countries for May holidays”, - informed the representatives of air ticket’s search and booking services. "In 2017, the demand for May holidays remains at the level of 2016.But, with some difference - now our customers prefer foreign destinations. The share of bookings of internal flights is 35% (in 2016 it was 42%). Bookings of abroad destinations are 65% in 2017 and 58% in 2016", - said the representative of web-service Anywayanyday. According to the tourist search resource Momondo, 68% of the company's clients are planning to rest at abroad resorts during May holidays. At the same time, the demand for foreign travel among Russian tourists increased by 12% against the same period of the last year. According to Janis Dzenis, the PR-director of Aviasales online booking service, the leaders of internal destinations are Moscow, Sochi, Simferopol, St. Petersburg, Krasnodar, Mineralnye Vody and Kaliningrad. Among the foreign destinations Prague, Tbilisi, Yerevan, Paris, Rome, Tel Aviv and Amsterdam are in top demand. Earlier tour operators reported, that organized tourists choose for rest Turkey, Greece and Sochi for May holidays.
