Russian tourist flow to Cuba has broken the record

Over the first 10 months of 2018, almost 107 thousand citizens of the Russian Federation visited Cuba: this is already more than for the whole 2017 (106 thousand). And the peak of winter season is ahead. According to the representative office of the Ministry of Tourism of Cuba in Moscow, in January-October compared with the same period in 2017, the number of Russian arrivals in the country increased by 27%. This is one of the best dynamics among the incoming markets in Cuba. According to forecasts of Cuban authorities, in 2018 the country will host about 130 thousand Russian tourists. The increase in the Russian tourist traffic to Cuba is connected with both the expansion of the frequency, geography and volume of charter flight programs, and the appearance of new offers for those tourists who are interested in sightseeing and active holidays in Cuba. According to ANEX Tour operator, this year due to an increase of the program from Moscow to Varadero (3 charter flights per week), as well as direct transportation to the resort of Cayo Coco (1 flight in 10/11 nights), the volume of tourists to Cuba increased by 35 %. As it was noted in ANEX Tour, Cuba is becoming more and more interesting for regional tourists. “The tourists from the regions of Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan made more than 50% of bookings with departures from Moscow.
