Russian Railways: passenger transportation to the far abroad grew by 8.5% in 2016
“In 2016, 8.5% more passengers traveled to foreign countries by train in comparison with the year before”, - reported the press-service of JSC "Russian Railways". The number of passengers, who used the long-distance trains, amounted more than 641 thousand people. "The greatest growth is noted on the routs Russia - Germany (+ 32.6%), Russia - France (+ 30.2%), Russia - Italy (+ 22.6%), Russia - Czech Republic (+ 19.4%), Russia - Poland (+ 6.5%), Russia - Finland (+ 5.7%), Russia - Austria (+ 2.2%)", - said in the company. The comfortable trains of JSC "FPK", which consist of a new four-compartment cars of RIC dimensions (a joint production of "Tver Railway Car building works" and “Siemens”) are used on the European routes. The trains are equipped with comfortable beds, sockets in each compartment, an air conditioning system with individual control, two sanitary rooms in each car, including one with built-in shower.
