Russian Federal Agency Read Out 370 Tour Operators of the Federal Registry

On the last week, Rostourism (Federal Agency for Tourism) read out of Federal Registry at once 370 tour operators. The order was published on the web site of Ministry on 16-th of March, however travel industry was busy with tourism fairs in Moscow, MITT and Intourmarket.

Recently, there are 3 849 companies in the registry. According to the words of Irina Shchegolkova, the Head of Press Department of Federal Agency for Tourism, the Agency does not expect any more mass expulsions, as it was told in the beginning of March. All those companies who delayed presenting documents about new financial insurance finally presented them. Some companies switched from outgoing to outbound tourism – she said.

The fact that almost thousand tour operators could immediately get financial guarantees raised concern, as it can follow the situation of insurance company Voskhhozhdenie who could not fulfill its obligations. Earlier Russian Federal Agency of Tourism announced their plans to monitor with which companies tour operators conclude agreements about the financial insurance.
