Russia in Antalya set up a tourist record of all times
Already in the first 9 months of 2018, 4.13 million tourist arrivals from Russia were recorded at the Turkish resort, which already exceeded all the record annual figures of previous years. Up to now, Antalya has not yet taken more than 4 million tourists from one country even for a year. According to the administration of Antalya, the city is in the best period of its tourist history after a particularly “difficult two past years”. Antalya, according to statistics from the two airports in the province, in January-September, was visited by 11,117,460 foreign tourists, which is 27.56% more than in the same period in 2017. These figures have already surpassed the volumes of the whole 2017, when the resort hosted almost 10.5 million holidaymakers from other countries. Anatolian hoteliers were helped by Russian tourists to reach record levels. For 9 months, Antalya was visited by 4,134,102 citizens of the Russian Federation (+ 22.5% compared with the same period in 2017, an increase of 761 thousand people). This is a new record of the Russian market by total arrivals in Antalya (in 2017 - 3.8 million, in 2014 - 3.3 million. For comparison: the tourist flow from Germany, which according to the results of 9 months of 2018, is on the second line by the number of arrivals in Antalya, is less than twice the Russian traffic (1.8 million arrivals, + 32.1% against January - September period of 2017). The Ukrainian market, which became the third in Antalya, showed a result of 646 thousand people (a decrease of 2% compared with the same period of 2017). Also in the TOP-5 of key markets of Antalya are the United Kingdom (+ 68%, 531 thousand people) and Poland (+ 143%, 353 thousand). According to the results of 9 months of 2018, the share of the Russian market in the total incoming flow to Antalya is almost 39%, German - 16.9%, Ukrainian - 6.07%, British - 4.99%. According to forecasts, in 2018 about 14 million foreign tourists will visit Antalya.
