Putin discussed resumption of air links with Egyptian President
“Russian President Vladimir Putin spoke by phone with Egyptian counterpart Abdelfattah Sisi, the parties noted that the results of work concerning air safety give reasons for near resumption of air traffic between the two countries”, - reports the Kremlin press service.
"During the exchange of views on actual issues of the bilateral agenda, the leaders noted the results of the joint work of Russian and Egyptian experts in the field of aviation safety and security services give the ground for resumption of regular flights between Moscow and Cairo in the short term", - the report says.
In early November the Russian Transport Minister Maxim Sokolov said about the possibility of the resumption of flights to Egypt on the eve of the New Year. However, later it was reported on the possibility of opening flights between Russia and Cairo in early 2017.
