Popular foreign destinations of Russian tourists in September

In September, Russian tourists rushed to unexpected foreign places, and among the rapidly growing destinations, where demand has jumped at times, are Southeast Asia and Europe, primarily Italy. This assessment was submitted by experts from the OneTwoTrip service. They conducted a study of which foreign cities became more popular among customers by analyzing hotel booking data in September 2023 and comparing them with the same period in 2022.

The result was unexpected. At times the demand increased in unexpected places. For example, in terms of growth rates, vacations in Seoul are in the first place. Hotels in the capital of South Korea are booked 7,5 times more often in September than last summer. In the second place is the resorts of Europe - for example, in Rimini hotels have become in demand almost 4 times more. Bangkok ranked third with a 3,5-fold increase in popularity.

Demand for hotels in Doha also increased 3-fold, in Naples 2,2-fold, and in Baku 2,1-fold.

2 times more often tourists are looking for hotels in Athens and Pattaya. The top ten is closed by Almaty, whose share increased by 80,0% and Tbilisi (+76,2%). They are followed by hotels in the resorts of Turkey.
