Petersburg-Helsinki Allegro train traffic grew by almost 17 percent in 2019
The press service of Oktyabrskaya Railway reports (branch of Russian Railways) that the passenger flow of high-speed trains Allegro from St. Petersburg to Helsinki in January-July 2019 increased by 16,6% compared to the same period last year - up to 316,3 thousand people.
In July 2019, Allegro trains carried out 56,7 thousand passengers (an increase of 13,3% compared to July 2018).
Increasing the attractiveness of Allegro trains for passengers is provided by flexible tariffs, marketing initiatives and special twin trains for high demand days.
Since the launch of the international high-speed service between St. Petersburg and Helsinki (since December 12, 2010), 3,6 million people have been transported by Allegro trains.
Allegro has been operating between St. Petersburg and Helsinki since December 2010. The train is a joint project of Russian Railways and Finnish state railway Company - VR Group.
