Paris is waiting for the double growth of the Russian tourist flow
Paris is waiting for the double growth of the Russian tourist flow - this was reported by Ms. Korin Menego, Director General of the Office of Tourism and Congresses of the French capital at a briefing held yesterday in Moscow. It is planned to achieve the goals through a large-scale update of tourist offers in Paris.
France remains the leader in world tourism: in 2019, the country was visited by 90 million foreign tourists, of which more than half visit the capital of France - Paris. More than 2 million tourists come to Paris from America, followed by Great Britain.
Russia is in the TOP 10 source markets for France, but in absolute terms, the volume of Russian tourist flow is relatively small. So, according to the results of 2018, 48 million tourists came to Paris, of which only 256 thousand were Russians.
Ms. Menego noted that although there are no official final statistics for 2019, the country hopes that the figures of Russian tourist flow will be higher. “At the end of 2020, we plan to double the volume of Russian tourist flow. Yes, the goals are ambitious, but there are reasons for them. This year Paris will be significantly renewed, which, in turn, will be a good incentive for Russians to come and see these transformations,” said Menego.
Corin Menego clarified that the updates will be focused, first of all, at cultural objects, as well as the hotel base.
