Most tourists who visited Turkey in the first half of the year were from Russia

“Nearly 1.7 million Russian tourists visited Turkey in January-June 2017”, - according to statistics released by Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the country. More than 12 million foreign tourists came to Turkey in the first half of 2017, which is 14.5% more than in the same period of the last year. Russia is on the first place by the number of tourists who visited Turkey in January-June this year. “Also the TOP 5 countries, from where this year came the largest number of tourists, included Germany, Georgia, Bulgaria and Iran. Most tourists came to Antalya and Istanbul”, - the document says. Earlier in Association of Tour Operators of Russia reported, that according to the results of summer bookings Turkey is the leader. This year Turkey is waiting for the restoration of the Russian market to the level of 2015. Also according to the representatives of the tourist industry, in Turkey this summer the most popular destination for Russians was Antalya coast.
