More than a million Russians already rested in Antalya in 2018

The Russian tourist flow to the resorts of Turkish Antalya this year can update its records. As the statistics of arrivals to the airports of Antalya show, for the first five months the number of Russians and, in general, foreign tourists in Antalya has increased by almost 50%. This year the number of Russian tourists in Antalya can update again its historical maximum. In January-May 2018 more than a million of Russian tourists (to be precise, 1 million 42 thousand 479 people) rested in Antalya. This is 47% more than a year ago and is a record for the entire history of Russian tourism in Turkey. According to the share of arrivals among other foreign tourists, Russians in Antalya are unconditionally the first: 38.4%. Only in May 2018 almost 740 thousand tourists came from Russia to Antalya (+ 43% in comparison with May 2017). As it was reported earlier, in 2017 almost 3.8 million Russians rested in Antalya, which became an absolute record of the Russian market. It is possible that in 2018 a new record level can be reached. Totally, in January-May 2018 2.88 million foreign travelers visited the resorts of Antalya region, which is 45% more than during the same period of 2017. Only in May, at the start of the summer season, 1.65 million foreigners visited local beaches, which is 50% higher than in the last year. Recall that in 2017 10.5 million foreign tourists visited Antalya (+ 57% agaist 2016). So, the TOP 10 of major markets of Antalya includes Russia, Germany, Ukraine (156 thousand people, + 14%), Great Britain (147 thousand, + 57%), Netherlands (120 thousand + 77 %), Poland (73 thousand, + 172%), Lithuania (49 thousand, + 84%), Israel (47 thousand, +3.8%) and Belgium (44 thousand, + 50%).
