Indonesia expects 75 thousand Russian tourists this year
“This year Indonesia expects to receive 75 thousand Russian tourists. The growth of tourist flow allows to make such forecasts, which has amounted more than 14% from the beginning of the year”, - said the deputy head of the Ministry of Tourism of Indonesia Maria Mayyabubun to “RATA-news”. "In 2015 the number of Russians has decreased by 25% (to 65.7 thousand) due to the crisis. From January to July the country was visited by 42 thousand tourists, it is 14.2% more than for the same period of the last year. This increase allows us to make a forecast for the full 2016 - we expect 75 thousand Russian tourists", - she said. Ms. Mayyabubun noted that in 2015 Indonesia was visited by 10.4 million foreign tourists totally, and the forecast for 2026 is 12 million. "Our main markets in Europe are - Britain, France, Germany, Netherlands. Russia is the fifth among them. The Russian market - one of the most important for us, because the Russians spend holidays more longer than tourists from the other countries. Their average rest period is 13 days. The average expenditure during the journey is also higher than that of the other foreigners - it reach $ 141 a day, and for the whole tour - $ 1.83 thousand", - added Ms. Mayyabubun. The main embarrassment to the growth of the flow is the lack of direct flights and the high price of transit tickets. But the representative of the Indonesia Embassy in Moscow Kiki T. Kusprabovo said that "Ural Airlines" company has reached an agreement to launch a regular flights program from Vladivostok to Bali since October 2016.
