In summer 72 new flights will be launched in Russia, 22 of them to Turkey
Skyscanner web resource has analyzed the statistics of summer bookings and determined what the new routes have been opened for Russians in this holiday season. 16 flights among 72 new ones were domestic, 56 - foreign. Turkey became the absolute leader among foreign destinations. New direct flights this summer have appeared in 27 cities of Russia. The majority are in Moscow (17) and St. Petersburg (10). Four new routes opened in Samara, three - in Volgograd, Yekaterinburg, Kazan and Minvody. A third of the flights, which were opened this year, connect Russian cities with Turkey. On the first place among Turkish directions is Istanbul (8), followed by Antalya (7) and Dalaman (3), to Alanya, Bodrum, Izmir and Samsun (1 each). On the second and third places are Greece and Italy (6 each). Four flights are to Georgia, three Kazakhstan and two to Belgium and Germany. The record holders among carriers, which launched new flights from and across Russia, were S7 (9) and Ural Airlines (8). Five flights were opened by Greek Ellinair and five by Turkish Atlasglobal. Also four new routes are performed by Turkish airline Onur Air and Russian "RusLine". "According to our data, the demand for tickets to Turkey increased by 40% in this season. Many airlines, expecting an increased flow of passengers, have included more Turkish destinations in their summer schedule. The demand for flights to Greece increased by 38% - this country became the second destination of new flights from Russia ", - says Skyscanner development manager in Russia Dmitry Khavansky.
