“In January-August 2016 Greece has issued 456,000 visas to Russians, 90% of which – multi-entry visas for a period 3 - 5 years”, - told the Russian office Director of the Greek National Tourism Organisation Polycarp Evstafiu. "These figures indicate that there is a great potential for the future. Thus, the Russians, who have a visa for three, four or five years may come to our country at any time", - stressed the Head of the Greek office speaking at the forum - "Greek-Russian relations in the field of tourism". He also added that at present time the Greek consulate in Moscow may issue 10 000 visas per day. "In spite of the problems, which were existed in the past, today all the documents processed instantly - faster than in the consulates of Spain and Italy", - added P. Evstafiu. He also said that in the period from 1 to 16 September of this year, the Greek consulate in Moscow has issued 33 800 visas to Russian tourists. It should be noted that 21.5 thousand visas were issued in September 2015. These figures show that tourist flow has increased substantially in September and October 2016.
