In April Turkey was visited by almost six times more Russian tourists than a year ago
“In April 2017 the tourist flow from Russia to Turkey exceeded the last year's figure by almost six times”, - according to statistics released by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Turkey. In April 2017, 181.800 Russians visited Turkey. A year ago - in the same month - the tourist flow was only 31 thousand people. Thus, it grew almost six times. The share of Russia in April amounted 8.78% of the total tourist flow to Turkey. This is the second place among the main markets after Germany (262.7 thousand people). The TOP 5 also included Georgia (180 thousand people), Bulgaria (147.2 thousand) and Iran (119 thousand). In April, Turkey hosted 2.07 million foreign tourists. This is 28% more than a year ago, when 1.75 million people came to the country. The most popular provinces are Istanbul, Antalya, Edirne, Artvin and Mugla.
