In 2018 Greece expects to launch a cruise communication with the south of Russia
“The Greek authorities are planning to launch a cruise communication with the southern Russia this year”, - said Velanis Dimitrios the Adviser to the Greek Prime Minister. "The Greek authorities have long been considering the issue of opening cruise lines between Greece and the south of Russia, I believe that this line will be opened this year", - he stressed. According to V. Dimitrios, about 5 million cruise tourists visit Greece every year. 43 sea ports host cruise ships, five of them - 500-600 cruises per year. In addition, he noted that there are internal Greek sea lines in Greece, which connect about 2,5 thousand islands only in the Aegean Sea and on a number of catamarans can be launched between them. Earlier, the Minister of Tourism of Greece Elena Kundura reported that the Russian tourist flow to Greece amounted about 900 thousand people in 2017. According to her, in 2018 Greece expects to exceed the level of 1 million tourists from Russia.
