Catalonia in 2017 hosted 60% of all Russians who visited Spain and is still the main Spanish market for tourists from Russian Federation. According to preliminary data from Frontur, from January to November almost 1.1 million Russian citizens visited Spain. December, most likely, added to this figure about 50 thousand people. Consequently, Catalonia in 2017 hosted 60% of all Russians who visited Spain", - notes Ms. Ionitskaya According to her, in 2017 two thirds (487 thousand) of Russians came to Catalonia during the beach season - from May to September. The share of sightseeing tourism is about 30% of the all flow. On average, Russians spend for holiday in Catalonia (include accommodation and meals in hotels) 1,074 Euros per person.
