How is summer 2019 sold off in Turkey?
At the moment, sales of Turkey are already opened by a number of major players. However, experts note that this year the early booking of tours to this country is not as active as in the past. TEZ Tour operator is one of the first to launch the sale of tours in Turkey for the summer season. The action of early booking will last until March 2019. The maximum benefit will be 50%. The tour operator noted that it plan to increase the volume of Turkey by 15 - 20% in its range. The flights will be carried out from 18 Russian regions, new hotels will replenish the hotel base. The first flight to Antalya will take place on March 30. Biblio-Globus tour operator also has opened sales of tours to Turkey for the summer season 2019. However, as the press service of the company noted, contracting with hotels is currently ongoing, so the company plans to announce the start of an early booking a little later. Currently the maximum depth of sales of Turkey in Biblio Globus reaches June 2019. Meanwhile, the tourist retail pays attention to the low interest of tourists for purchasing of tours to Turkey during early booking program. According to Alexan Mkrtchyan, the director of the Pink Elephant network of travel agencies, one of the reasons of the almost complete lack of demand is the fear of tourists regarding the fulfillment of obligations by tour operators. “Last year the situation was extraordinary. Already in October we could book tours to Turkey. The demand was huge. However, closer to the season, tour operators, who overestimated demand, began to cut their flight programs. That naturally affected the tourists. This year, customers are more prudent. And, probably, the peak of sales will be in February,” said the expert. In general, experts predict that the demand for summer Turkey will be comparable with the volume of last year. And they expect peak of sales of summer tours on early booking program not earlier than in the beginning of February. Now tourists are more interested in winter and spring holidays.
