Hotels in Turkey win the fight for the Russian client due to significant discounts
“Thanks to discounts for the early booking of the summer season of 2018, hotels in Turkey receive more Russian tourists and win in competition with domestic hoteliers”, - said the General Director of Intourist tour operator Viktor Topolkaraev. "Turkish hoteliers conduct very aggressive marketing policy (in a good sense of the word). They give significant discounts on earlier booking and virtually sweep away all potential demand for cheap and medium-price tours", - he added. At the same time, the Russian hoteliers, according to the expert, for the first time this year have stabilized prices after three years of continuous growth of prices on the domestic market. "There are no attempts to raise prices in Sochi and the Crimea, the prices even began to drop somewhere, not in season, but before the season", - underlined V.Topolkaraev. He noted that in previous years Russian hoteliers could overstate prices. "The mistake of the hoteliers is that they compare their prices with the prices on the local market and not with the world one. But this is a global market and people have the opportunity to choose: to go to Sochi or Antalya or to Greece or Bulgaria. They compare domestic and external markets. Not always our hoteliers have objective information about prices on the world markets. When we provided it last year, we could prevent an increase of prices", - said the Head of Intourist.
