Hotels in Turkey: the number of Russian tourists will increase after quarantine
Sururi Noskbatir, the President of the Turkish Hoteliers Federation (TÜROFED), said Turkish hotels will not up price when the Covid-19 epidemic ends. “Of course, there will be no increase in prices due to the epidemic, no one is worried about it. Last year we signed all contracts with tour operators for this season. In retrospective, we also cannot raise the price. A contract is a contract,” he said.
Noskatir emphasized that due to the epidemic, tourism will decline compared to previous years, adding that prices for some hotels will be “as in October”, but this is not a general trend in all hotels.
“When the coronavirus epidemic ends, the need for cleaning and disinfection in hotels will increase, and the number of staff will also increase. Hotels will increase costs. But the state supports tourism sector. These support measures are sufficient. I am sure that the government will not leave the tourism sector in trouble if a new need arises”, he added.
The President of the Federation noted that Turkish tourism will not end due to epidemic, and that the number of Russian tourists arriving in Turkey after quarantine will increase. “The important thing is that the number of cases of infection is falling. Soon both Turkey and Russia will gradually open their borders and begin aviation flights. After that, it will be possible to predict how many Russian tourists will arrive at Turkish resorts,” he said.
